The lifestyle magazine that I will be researching is Cosmopolitan

Here are some examples of the type of magazine that I want to produce:

Amanda Spenburg on the front cover of

ELLE Magazine

Mass head (Title) - "ELLE" that is clearly stated in capital letters with the colour of white.

The slogan - White italic writing stating Rise of The Rebel" and then in bold yellow "AMANDA SPENBURG" possibly indicating that she is best known for breaking the rules due to the fact that she's called a rebel.

The cover lines - There is only one cover line in this magazine: "ALL NEW FASHION ISSUE".

Colour Scheme - The colour scheme for this magazine is very bright and eccentric using colours such as emerald and neon green, Tangerine orange,

and muddy blonde.

Central Image - The central image consists of Amanda Spenburg staring into the camera in a peaceful and also seductive way.

Promotions - I think this magazine is promoting alternative makeup looks e.g blue eyeshadow

Kendall Jenner on the front cover of VOGUE Magazine

Mass head (Title) - "Vogue" that is clearly stated in capital letters with the colour of bright tangerine.

The slogan - White italic writing stating "Fashion's New Bohemia" indicating that Kendall Jenner is embracing her artistic side.

The cover lines - coloured in either white or orange, with the font being italic or bold. "Kendall Jenner, Millennial Dollar Baby", PEACE, LOVE & ROCK'N' ROLL", "Vogue Codes, Get with the program", On Track, Racing Style Guide", John Olsen, An intimate portrait by Tim Olsen.

Colour Scheme - The colour scheme for this magazine is very bright and eccentric using colours such as emerald and neon green, Tangerine orange,

and muddy blonde.

Central Image - The central image consists of Victoria's Secret model Kendall Jenner staring directly into the camera in a confident way, with the mise en scene implying that she is proud to be eccentric and stand out from the crowd.

Promotions - I think the magazine is promoting alternative fashion.

Garrett Neff on the front cover of

DA MAN Magazine

Mass head (Title) - "Da man" being stated in black and bright orange, with a tiny italic sentence stating "Make your own style"

The slogan - The slogan states the model's name (Garrett Neff) with tiny black italic writing underneath saying "Return of the male supermodel"

The cover lines - Mainly coloured in black with the font being in bold. "", PEACE, LOVE & ROCK'N' ROLL", "Vogue Codes, Get with the program", On Track, Racing Style Guide", John Olsen, An intimate portrait by Tim Olsen.

Colour Scheme - Unlike Kendall Jenner's,

the colour scheme for this magazine is more colour muted/masculine

Central Image - The central image consists of male model Garret Neff staring straight at the camera with a very serious and powerful face, this radiates confident masculine energy

Promotions - I think the magazine could be promoting male confidence.

Lifestyle magazines were originally designed for women. But over the years, lifestyle magazines have evolved to be more gender equal. Lifestyle magazines give us advice about food, sex and relationships, they also try and attempt to make us feel like we are in the same group. Lifestyle magazines are also best known for giving the reader advice about changes that could be made to improve their life, they also show the reader the best choices to make and which products to buy to help them feel good about themselves.

This is an example of a front cover of a Cosmopolitan magazine. The things that i like about the magazine are the bright colours that are perfect for attracting the public. Another thing that I like about the magazine is the style of fonts. If we take a look at the cover lines, we can see a black text stating "Glow like a pro". This is used to try and make the reader believe that they have the best tips and tricks. In addition, another black text states "Michelle Keegan: you'll never guess what she's doing next". This is purposely used to attract the readers who love juicy celebrity gossip.

This is what the inside of a Cosmopolitan Magazine would look like. As we can see, both pages inside the magazine are filled with different types of makeup such as Eyeshadow, Lip Glosses and Lipsticks, that follows with a detailed description of the price and what the makeup can do for you. The massive capital letters at the top of the page, "MEGA BEAUTY GIVEAWAY!" gives the audience a feeling of excitement and makes them automatically look at what's on stall.
