Costume Designer

Costume designers design, create and hire the costumes for the cast. They start by working with directors, producers, writers, the production designer and hair and makeup designer to contribute to the look and storytelling of the production.



You will need an degree or postgraduate qualification in a subject such as Costume Design, Fashion, Theatre Design or Performing Arts. Apprenticeship schemes and internships are a good way to start gaining on-the-job experience and will enable you to learn from more experienced designers



Makeup Artist

Makeup Artists are beauty practitioners who offer general makeup services or work in prosthetic design. Their primary duties include enhancing facial aesthetics through makeup, creating custom looks for clients and working with actors on movie sets.


Although it's certainly possible to be a self-taught makeup artist without formal training, these days with the widespread availability of YouTube makeup tutorials and with every second person being able to be “okay” at applying makeup, it's crucial to set yourself apart from the pack and become qualified as a makeup.


TV Presenter

Presenters act as the public face on television and radio programs. They are responsible for introducing and interviewing guests, linking segments, and generally holding the show together.


To be a TV presenter, you need excellent reading, concentration, and listening skills. You also need to accept criticism. While there are no specific qualifications required to become a television presenter, many people begin their careers by working as runners or media researchers behind the scenes of television shows.



TV/Film Producer

TV/film producers are best known for organizing people and resources that are involved in the TV industry. They also work closely with directors and production staff to make sure everything runs smoothly, within budget, and on time.


There are no specific qualifications required, however a degree or HND in a media-related subject will really increase your chances of getting work. Alternatively, you can get into the industry by taking a broadcast production apprenticeship.


Animator

An animator creates an illusion of movement, these can either be hand -drawn, digital, models or puppets. They usually work in 2D or 3D model-working.


You need a bachelor's degree in computer animation, fine art, or graphic arts in order to be an animator. You also need good time and communication skills.
